Wedding Body Image & Beacon Recs
Loved Beacon, hated having distressful body image at a wedding
This past weekend, my husband and I headed up north to a friend’s wedding in Beacon, NY. In today’s Substack, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite spots we found in Beacon as well as a little anecdote of body image activation, how I managed it and what I’m doing about it. Let's get into it.
Some Beacon, NY Food and Shopping Recommendations!
Beacon Bread Company - part cute cafe as well as sit down restaurant with delicious pastries and lots of other savory options for sit down service. Great coffee too!
Kitchen & Coffee - a Gluten Free, vegetarian coffee shop and cafe with light bites. Their coconut granola bowl was yummy.
Sibling - the cutest children’s boutique that made me want to buy everything. They had numerous Lewis and Pehr items, which I just love the prints and quiality fabric.
The Roundhouse - The restaurant overlooks the beautiful waterfall and creek. There was also outdoor seating available for warmer weather.

Binnacle Books - A small quaint bookstore to wander around in. Nothing better than a bookstore (especially without a toddler!) when you have time to spare, IMO.
Glazed Over - while we didn’t purchase anything here, we did peek in to see fresh donuts being made that are fully customizable. My son would have loved this. We saw so many little kiddos happy in here!
Beacon Cheese Shop - this cute cheese shop also serves delicious fresh sandwiches on baguettes. We shared a turkey and cheese sandwich with fresh arugula and a pesto mayo as well as a fresh mozzarella and fig jam sandwich back in our hotel bed. Highly recommend to pick up prior to a picnic (one in your hotel bed even better). We loved these sammies!
Now for some body image talk…
Let’s just say, before the wedding even occurred - my anxiety and my body image was at a simmer. It started the night before the wedding at a rehearsal cocktail event where my body image and anxiety were talking to me.
